Standard "Professional Transcription" Fee Our standard professional transcription fee is based on your digital files having the following standard qualities:

  • Professionally recorded audio
  • Low to no competing background noise
  • Native English speaking participants
  • Labeled and numbered (and if two sided, label must indicate such)

If your media do not possess the above standard qualities, we will attempt to notify you promptly to inform you of your options and all costs necessary to complete your project.

Turnaround Time

Our standard turnaround time is 48 hours from the date we receive your tape. More complicated transcription styles vary from 3 to 7 days for turnaround. All media received after 4:00 PM will be considered received on the next business day. Received media must be in Quick Transcriptions usable form and already digitized or compressed to under 700kps files. Expedited turnaround times are available, upon your request. Certain events, beyond our control, may affect turnaround time. In all such cases, we will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible. Additionally, we will contact you to discuss such an event as soon as possible. Examples of such events include, but are not limited to:

  • Poor audio quality
  • Broken tapes
  • Natural disaster.

Billing:

Payment is due immediately upon billing and allowed a 15 (fifteen day) grace period, unless other arrangements have been made. You, the client (hereinafter "Client") agree to pay for all work (hereinafter "Transcripts") completed by Quick Transcriptions on your behalf from any materials (hereinafter "Source") you submit for transcription. Your payment is not required until we complete your project. We will send an invoice upon completion of your project, payment due immediately. Payments are subject to a 5% late fee or $25 late processing charge (which ever is greater) for all past due invoices. Invoices are sent via email and W9 forms are available upon request. If you are a first time customer, we will require you to fill out our customer information service form to keep on file. We submit invoices via email. Entire post production seasons will be billed on a monthly basis. Billing is based on the length of each 30 minute segments, clips or audio source submitted, not the cumulative length of all audio submitted. In the event that the Source is a double-sided audio cassette or micro-cassette, each side shall be considered a separate audio source for transcription and billing purposes. Each digital Source file submitted is billed as a separate transcript. Quotes are based on information provided by client, actual prices may vary depending on the audio source, quality or additional time required to format your project. Discounts are based on a cash or check payments only.

Video and Audio Transcription Sources:

Client hereby states that all files to be transcribed are submitted by Client Company to QT are duplicates of the original materials. Only under certain circumstances will QT accept "Master" or "Original" Source tapes or materials. Client hereby acknowledges that the Source materials submitted to QT, be they VHS, Cassette, DVD, or other types of media are of zero ($0.00) commercial value. QT shall not be held liable for any loss or destruction of materials submitted by Client, including but not limited to losses incurred in the return shipping of audio source tapes back to Client. QT may at its discretion hold Client's Source materials until any outstanding invoices are paid in full.

Project Request Form:

The Client will download and submit a project request form (hereinafter "Request Form") for each batch of Source materials to be transcribed. On the Request Form, the Client may elect which return shipping method they desire for their Source materials. In the event that the Client does not state a preference on the Request Form, said Source materials will be returned using the then cheapest method available to the Client. Said shipping will be billed to the Client.The project request can be filled out using our website Get Started section. The project request form can also be uploaded and faxed to our offices. Please call or fax prior to submitting audio files, to ensure we can meet your turnaround requirements.

Transcription Quality:

Client accepts that no Transcript can ever be "perfect" and that the Client has examined samples of QT work and found the quality of said Transcripts to be satisfactory for Clients needs. Client accepts that occasionally there will be unavoidable inaccuracies due to poor audio quality, obscure regional slang or dialect, or unfamiliar proper names and nouns. Transcription services rendered by QT do not include any research or proofing to determine the correct spelling of proper nouns, geographical locations, technical jargon, or slang. Client also acknowledges that spoken word is often very distinct from proper grammar. In particular, most people talk in run-on sentences, as such QT will make a good faith effort to determine when one sentence ends and the next begins. However, Client accepts that this is a judgment call and agrees that QT will make no effort to correct grammar or proof-read material for grammar. Any claims of defect by the Client must be submitted within 5 days of the completed Transcript being forwarded to the e-mail account the Client specified when establishing an account with QT. Client accepts that a "redo" of the Transcript will be Client's only claim of satisfaction for work rejected by the Client.Client further agrees that "re-dos" will only apply to specifically rejected Transcripts and not entire jobs. For purposes of this agreement, the Transcripts are considered to be custom-produced and perishable works. Under no circumstances will refunds be issued for delivered work.

Turnaround Time:

Turnaround times stated by QT with regards to completion of Transcripts are estimates based on the current workload which fluctuates daily. QT does offer rush services (hereinafter "Rush Service") defined as transcription performed in 24 hours or less of receipt of Source Materials from Client. However, there is a limitation to how much Rush Service Source materials can be handled at any given time. Client agrees to contact QT in advance of submitting any materials for Rush Service. QT may at its discretion decline any or all Source material requesting Rush Service. In the event that QT agrees to perform Rush Service on Client's Source materials but fails to deliver within the 24 hour time period, Client shall only be billed for the applicable Source classification minus any rush charges. That said, QT and Client may waive these restrictions from time to time with mutual agreement.

Delinquency:

Payment is due immediately upon billing. Our grace period is 15 days. Quick Transcriptions has the right to charge Additional charges for all delinquent services, Should Client's account become delinquent, Client agrees to pay any late charges and pay all fees and costs incurred by QT in the process of collecting the monies owed, including without limitation attorney's fees and court costs. Client by signing or submitting an account application, or tape submission form, or credit application, attests to financial responsibility and acknowledges reading and agreeing to all terms of this document. QT reserves the right to change these Terms of Service from time to time.

Project Release:

Client hereby grants Quick Transcriptions and their parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities and each of their successors, licensees and/or employees, permission to use transcription projects in any and all of its publications, including website entries, without payment or any other consideration. I hereby irrevocably authorize Quick Transcriptions and their parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities and each of their successors authorization to exhibit, publish, distribute or promote project likeness for the purposes of publicizing Quick Transcriptions services or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copies, wherein project likeness appears. Additionally, I waive the right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of project information. I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge Quick Transcriptions from all claims, demands and causes of action which the client, representatives, executors, administrators or and other persons acting on the clients behalf or on behalf of the client or may have by reason of this authorization.

Arbitration:

I agree that any dispute concerning, relating or referring to this contract, services or any other literature concerning Quick Transcriptions shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in the Commonwealth of Los Angeles, California, according to the existing rules of the American arbitration association. Such proceedings will be governed by substantive California law.

Acknowledgement:

By checking the box "I Yes, I have read and agree to the terms and conditions as provided by Quick Transcriptions in regards to transcription services provided by Quick Transcriptions" on our website www.quicktranscriptions.com index.php/contact-us/get-started, it indicates that I have read and understood this document and I acknowledge that it affects my legal rights and agree to be bound by its terms. By checking the box, also signifies my intention to relieve and indemnify Quick Transcriptions, its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors and subcontractors from any liability for personal injury, defamation or losses which may unintentionally occur. Furthermore, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and hereby agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement set forth herein. If I am agreeing on behalf of someone else, I am representing that I am their dully appointed agent and accept responsibility for agreeing on their behalf.

  • Difficult Audio:Add additional $10 per 30 minutes for audio with Background noise | Speakers talking each other | Low-speaking voices, difficult to hear | Poor Audio Quality | Frequent Timestamps | regional accents | t false starts | Requiring medical or scientific terminology
  • Q & A Style Transcripts: All interviewee or main answers are transcribed verbatim, without ums', uh's, stutters and false starts
  • Additional charges: Add additional $25 to for Verbatim Transcript of Questions and/or true Verbatim, including um's, uh's, stutters and false starts. Add $25 per Half segment for files requiring digitizing or compression.
  • Rush charges are applicable for guaranteed delivery of documents, are 24hr to 48hr turn-around, weekends and holiday. Rush TAT are based on availability.
  • Payments are accepted by Credit Card or Check/Money Order or Google Check out, Paypal. V. Payments are due immediately upon invoicing.
