Micro MV Tape to DVD

The Micro MV format was not used as vastly general DV format. As a replacement for, it uses 12 Mbit/s MPEG-2 compression, like that it can be used for HDV and DVDs. Film recorded on Micro MV format originally cannot edit directly by mainstream DV editing software, like Final Cut Pro, Apple or Adobe Premiere; as an alternative Sony introduced video editing software program called Movie Shaker (for Windows PCs only) for its own. Future versions of Ulead Video Studio and other freeware applications though could edit and capture from Sony Micro MV Camcorders.

Micro MV is not a popular format. Sony was the individual electronics gadget manufacturer to sell Micro MV cameras. As of 2006 January, Sony stopped further new Micro MV camcorder models.
